The workshop will help to show that you don’t have to be a specialist to teach music skills through singing. It will be very practical and illustrate how to provide a richer curriculum for all children from the Early Years to Year 6 by:
•learning lots of songs that can be taken back into school and used in the classroom; and
•using singing games to help support a child’s development in areas such as speech, language, social skills and confidence.
The Course Leader: Beth Hill (Voices Foundation)
Beth Hill is a music graduate specialising in singing. She has been a primary teacher for over 20 years with experience of Early Years, Key Stages 1 and 2, and using music in the wider curriculum. Since 2001 she has worked as an Advisory Teacher with The Voices Foundation and has led in-school programmes in many London and South East Authorities. As a senior advisory teacher she also oversees all the Foundation’s projects in this region. She has now produced an Early Years book.
